Main factors affecting the quality of spring grinding

1. The grinding wheel should be selected reasonably
The abrasive grains of the grinding wheel are coarse, the surface roughness becomes coarse, and the production efficiency of the grinding wheel is low. If the grinding wheel is too hard, the grinding surface will be burned, the verticality is not good, and there will be two grinding surfaces. The grinding wheel is soft, the sand particles fall off quickly, the service life of the grinding wheel is short, and the verticality and the parallelism of the end face are not good.
2. Control of spiral angle
In order to ensure the perpendicularity of the spring, the rising angle of the spring is very important. When the helix angle is different, the degree of grinding surface, the thickness of the end and the perpendicularity are very discrete.
3. There should be special measuring tools in grinding
In order to ensure the quality of grinding, a certain number of special measuring tools should be equipped to ensure that workers can quickly and correctly measure the quality of grinding spring in self inspection.
4. Dressing of grinding wheel
If the wheel is concave, the perpendicularity of the grinding spring is good, but the wheel is easy to wear, the service time is not long, and the dressing times of the wheel are more. It is required that the wheel dresser can swing the angle to repair the concave wheel. If it is a parallel grinding wheel, this is the ideal state. This kind of grinding wheel has the advantages of long service time, less dressing times and good perpendicularity. If it is a medium convex grinding wheel, that is, the grinding wheel is convex in the middle after dressing. The poor perpendicularity of the spring is generally caused by the wear of the guide rail of the wheel dresser and the phenomenon that the dresser lets the knife when dressing. In this case, the dresser should be repaired in time, but the wheel at this time can no longer be used for the fine grinding of the spring.
5. Selection of grinding sleeve diameter and length size
When grinding the spring with high verticality, the gap between the spring and the sleeve should be 0.05-0.5mm, and the gap between the spring and the upper and lower grinding wheels should be uniform.
6. Grinding of guide rail of wheel dresser
After the seal of the guide rail of the dresser is damaged, the sand will enter the guide rail of the dresser, causing the wear of the guide rail. If the machine is used for a long time, the guide rail of the dresser will be worn. At this time, the guide rail and sealing device of the dresser should be repaired in time. Otherwise, the phenomenon of tool passing will appear. The grinding wheel will be convex after dressing, and the verticality of the spring is difficult to grind well.
7. Prevent the generation of gap during spring grinding
When grinding a spring, it is easy to produce a gap at the end close to it. The gap will affect the perpendicularity, load characteristics and free height size of the spring. Therefore, the general grinding process of spring is carried out after stress relief and tempering. When the spring is rolled with annealed material, there will be a gap at the end during rough grinding. When the spring is rolled with cold drawn material, there is a layer of residual stress on the surface of the steel wire, After rough grinding, the balance of residual stress is destroyed and the end gap is caused. Therefore, when the spring made of annealed material is rough ground, a stress relief tempering process can be added before rough grinding to eliminate the residual stress of cold drawing and solve the problem of end gap.
